International Student Registration Notice

China University of Petroleum (East China) congratulates you on your admission and welcomes you. Please take note of the following information.

1. Registration Time: please refer to Admission Notice and register in due time. If students cannot register on time, they shall ask for leave to Admission Office during the registration period. The leave shall not exceed two weeks, otherwise it will be considered as giving up registration.

2. Registration Venue

College of International Education, China University of Petroleum (UPC)

It is recommended to enter from campus east gate, which is closest to the registration venue of College of International Education. Please show the copy of your Admission Letter to the guard at east gate of the campus for entry.

Students who will live in school off-campus dorm are requested to first arrive at the off-campus dorm to complete the check-in procedures, obtain the housing agreement, and then come to school with the housing agreement to start the registration process.

3. Registration Materials

■ Passport and X-visa  ■ Original Degree, Diploma or Studying Certificate (only for postgraduate program students)  ■ Photocopy of Admission Notice and JW202   ■8 photos (Passport size, white background)   ■ Original Foreigner Physical Examination Form and its exam reports.

Note: according to the Chinese Public Security, new international students must take a foreigner examination in China for a residence permit. Some exam items may be exempted if the above documents are approved by the government-appointed health center.

4. Fees and Payment

Tuition (please refer to http://cie.upc.edu.cn/admission_en/Admission/Tuition___Costs.htm), Insurance (CNY 800/year), Medical Check (CNY 200-700), Residence Permit (CNY 800/year), Accommodation (On-campus living: CNY 500-750/Month, refundable room deposit CNY 1000, Bedclothes CNY 300. Off-campus dorm living: CNY 800/Month（twin room), CNY 1600/Month (single room). The first payment includes a refundable deposit of one month room expense and three months’ room expenses in advance. The first payment shall be made directly in CNY cash. So students living in off-campus dorm please prepare at least four months ' room expenses in RMB cash in the first payment ); Campus Card (CNY 20), living expenses such as food (about CNY 35 per day) and public transportation CNY 1-2 each time. Payments can only be accepted in CNY. It is recommended to bring enough CNY cash to cover the expenses of living, accommodation, food and transportation in the short term upon arrival in Qingdao.

5. Police Residence Registration

New students should reach UPC WITHIN 24 hours in workday after entering China for police residence registration. If not, students must conduct a temporary residence registration at the police-entrusted hotels or the nearest police station WITHIN 24 hours in workday after entering China. Otherwise, a penalty fine would be imposed on students by police according to the Chinese laws.

6. Transportation Tips

7. Accommodation Arrangement

If you plan to live in the school dormitory (on-campus or off-campus dorms), you need to make a reservation in advance through the application system. Due to the shortage of accommodation this year, beds will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Those who fail to make a reservation will not be able to live in school dormitory.
