Asadullah Memon, male, born on November 07, 1987 in city and district Khairpur Mirs, Province Sindh, Pakistan, is Ph.D Scholar at School of Petroleum Engineering, China University of Petroleum (East China) Since September 2017. His field of interest is “Oil and Gas Field Development” and his research direction is “An experimental study on shale gas storage and its effective role in shale resource assessment”. It was a great honor for him to achieve the Wang Tao Scholarship 2020 as this scholarship will further boost his confidence level towards the scientific research. He is a person with “can-do” attitude which demonstrates his intellectual energy and talent, apart from that he have impressive work ethics, organization and accuracy. Whenever he have deputed for any task, he always pull it off with quality with which he complete it and have instrumental approach towards completing projects on the time. He has proven research aptitude which makes him stand out as a distinct professional. He remained top three students in bachelor and master degree and awarded Merit certificate and Merit scholarships in three consecutive years i.e. 2007-2009.
After joining UPC, he has produced thirteen (13) research papers including 10 SCI indexing papers and also attended international conferences and technical courses/workshops. He was awarded First-class UPC Scholarship in 2017 and Qingdao Government Scholarships in two consecutive years i.e. 2019 and 2020. He participated in Lab cleaning activity, CIE programs such as orientation, farewell, convocation, meetings etc., tours, SPE Distinguished Lecturer, sport activities, and social activities like Chinese and Pakistan festivals, International culture festival, etc. He was guided and motivated the lab mates, friends, and new comers about “How to write a research paper” and also provided them technical support and materials such as petroleum related software and e-books. His experience in china is not only enhanced his knowledge and skills but also exchange his thoughts and ideas with different country cultures including Chinese cultural, history, food etc. He is intellectual, hard worker, computer literate, research oriented person and has outstanding Chinese ability. He Loves China, supports the line, principles and policies of the Communist Party of China, abides by discipline and law, has good conduct, and strictly obeys the school laws. Also, he has made contributions to international exchanges. He is professional member of Society of Petroleum Engineer (SPE) and Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC). Furthermore, he is reviewer of Journal of Petroleum Science and Engineering, which is one of top ranked journal in the Petroleum field, and reviewed many papers of this journal. His great experience in china is unforgettable and he has feeling great honor to be part of UPC.
Asadullah Memon has been working as Assistant Professor in Mehran University of Engineering & Technology (SZAB Campus Khairpur) at Pakistansame. He is a founder and was first faculty advisor of SPE Student Chapter, “Mehran University College of Engineering and Technology Khairpur Mirs 6096” and served as a faculty Advisor of this chapter from 2012 to 2014. During his tenure, he organized many successful events in national level, promoted and uphold the SPE educational activities, created healthy environment for the young engineers to harness their strength in collaboration with the industry and recognized chapter as a Gold Standard student chapter.
