China University of Petroleum (East China) has partnered with Shandong Longai Technology Development Co., Ltd. to establish an international student employment and entrepreneurship base. The agreement was signed on April 12th at the SCO Demonstration Zone of Jiaozhou City.

During the event, Huang Fang, Dean of the College of International Education and Director of the Office of International Affairs, emphasized the importance of vocational internships and practical experience for international students, which can help them integrate into Chinese society and offer more employment opportunities. The university looks forward to collaborations with Longai Co., Ltd. and relevant government departments to provide more opportunities for international students in internships, entrepreneurship, and employment.

Wang Dong, General Manager of Longai Co., Ltd., highlighted his company's development status, including entrepreneurial training, the "Internet+" innovation and entrepreneurship contests, and business incubation. He committed to providing an array of channels for international students to remain and work in China after graduation.

Zhang Li, member of the CPC Group of the Jiaozhou Human Resources and Social Security Committee, stated that Jiaozhou City is luring international young talents and offering job opportunities, especially in Qingdao. Zhang Li said international students participating in entrepreneurship and innovation programs will be well-equipped with essential skills. Zhang Li urged for greater collaboration between academics, enterprises and governments to boost growth and development of international students.

According to the partnership agreement, both parties will work together to develop an international student training and internship base that will cater to their needs and match students with relevant companies. The curriculum for the international student innovation and entrepreneurship course will be created, supplemented by entrepreneurship training that will improve international students' entrepreneurial vision and practical know-how.

The collaboration will improve the practical abilities and vocational qualities of international students, providing more job and entrepreneurial opportunities while boosting local internationalization and talent exchange, bringing new momentum to economic and social development. In light of growing internationalization, the SCO, as a crucial multinational organization in politics and economics, plays an increasingly vital role. UPC, focusing on national development strategies and serving local economic and social growth, leverages its energy discipline strengths in cultivating high-level professionals for the Belt and Road countries and SCO member states. The enhanced collaboration between enterprises and the university through in-depth partnerships will speed up the integration with local community and develop a comprehensive, wide-ranging, and deep-rooted cooperation-for-win pattern.
