On October 15, 2024, the evaluation and defense meeting of Wang Tao Talents Scholarship for International Students was held in the conference room of College of International Education, attended by Zhang Zhiying, vice dean of the College of International Education, and relevant personnel of International Student Scholarship Evaluation Committee.
Since September 28, after individual application and qualification examination, a total of two undergraduate students, two master's degree students and eightPHD students have been shortlisted for the final defense session of the college. The review and defense isconducted in the way of combining the candidates' PPT presentation report and experts' question and defense. The selection was based on the principles of fairness,justice and openness, and was evaluated in strict accordance with Wang TaoTalentsScholarship Selection Rules and other relevant regulations.
At the beginning of the debate, thehost introduced the selection rules of Wang TaoTalentsScholarship for International Students to the participants, and then the 12 candidatespresented their achievements inpaper research, student work and social activities to the expert judges in turn. After the defense, the expert judges discussed and voted, and finally determined that the recommended candidate for 2024 Wang TaoTalentsScholarship would be MWELANGO MARTIN (Chinese name:馬天佑), a Ugandan doctoral student in the Grade 2021.
