Part A: Procedures to set up PPTP VPN

1. Right Click on the internet icon at the right side of the bottom taskbar or , choose “open network & internet settings”. In the Settings window, click on “Network and Sharing Center”.

2. Click on “ Set up a new connection or network”.

3. Click on “ Connect to a workplace”, and then “next”

4. Click on “Use my Internet connection”

5. Type in the address of the VPN server: vpn.upc.edu.cn, then click on “create”

Part B: Procedures to connect VPN

1. Right Click on the internet icon at the right side of the bottom taskbar or , choose “open network & internet settings”. In the Settings window, click on “Network and Sharing Center”.

2. In the Network and Sharing Center window, click on “Change adapter settings”

3. Right click on VPN connection, choose “properties”.

4. On the “security” card, choose the type of VPN, Data encryption, tick “unencrypted password”, and “Challenge Handshake Authentication Protocol”, then click on “OK”.

5. In the pop-up window, click on “Yes”.

6. Click on the internet icon at the right side of the bottom taskbar or , click on “VPN connection”, then “connect”.
