Entry Requirements & Application Documents

Degree students

Bachelor’s

programs

1.Applicants should be between 18 and 25 years of age.

2.Copy of ordinary passport with at least 12 months validity

3.High school diploma and transcript. Applicants that have not graduated should provide a study certificate/pre-graduation certificate.

4.English/Chinese Language proficiency certificate

5.Financial support statement

6.Employment certificate or non-criminal record required from those graduated over 12 months.

7.Foreigner Physical Examination Form (if available)

Graduate

programs

1.Master’s applicants should be under 35 years of age. Doctoral applicants should be under 40 years of age.

2.Copy of ordinary passport with at least 12 months validity

3.Master’s applicants: bachelor’s degree certificate and transcript

Doctoral applicants: master’s and bachelor’s certificates and transcripts.

Applicants that have not graduated should provide a study certificate/pre-graduation certificate.

4.Language proficiency certificate

5.Research proposal with a minimum of 800 words

6.Two recommendation letters (Online Recommendation

7.Financial support statement

8.Employment certificate or non-criminal record required from those graduated over 12 months.

Non-degree

students

Chinese language program

1.Applicants should be between 18 and 45 years of age.

2.Copy of ordinary passport with at least 12 months validity

3.Highest diploma and transcript. Applicants that have not graduated should provide astudy certificate/pre-graduation certificate.

4.Financial support statement

5.Employment certificate or non-criminal record required from those graduated over 12 months.

6.Foreigner Physical Examination Form (if available)

Foundation

program

General scholar program

1.Applicants should be between 18 and 45 years of age.

2.Applicants should have either a high school diploma or a bachelor’s degree.

Senior scholar

program

1.Applicants should be under 50 years of age.

2.Applicants should have either a master’s degree or a professor/associate professor position.

Notes:

1. Applicants under 18 years of age must provide a Parental Authorization Statement for International Students and a Statement of Guarantee from International Students’ Guardians.

2. According to the regulations of the Ministry of Education of China, those who immigrated to other countries from the Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao or Taiwan and are applying to study at UPC as international students, should meet the following additional requirements. The applicants must hold valid passport or other relevant internationally recognized documents for at least 4 years. Meanwhile, in the latest 4 years (by each April 30th of the year of university registration), the applicants must have lived overseas for 2 years. Living overseas for 9 months can be converted to 1 year, which is subject to the exit-entry stamp on visa.

Master’s & Doctoral program

·The equivalent English proficiency test

·English was the instruction language in university

** English proficiency exemptions: speakers of English as a native/official/work language or interview above 60

4. Translated copies must be attached if the originals are not in Chinese or English.

5. A valid physical examination form is required for a study visa application in the Chinese embassy/consulate and for registration with UPC.
