Q: When is the deadline for online application for the spring and autumn semester?
A: The deadline for spring semester is December 20, and that for autumn semester is May 15.
Q:If I will graduate this year and have not got the graduation certificate, how do I apply?
A:Please ask the related department such as Academic Department or Postgraduate School to issue a Pre-Graduation Letter and Study Certificate.
Q: What programs do you offer in spring semester?

A: Yes.
Q: Do I have to contact a professor?
A: Yes. Supervisors can be found by checking our website to identify supervisors working in your interested research direction and contact them through the contact information on the website.You are advised to be patient as you contact the supervisors as they are busy and may take long to reply the emails because they receive a lot of correspondence from prospective students.
Q: Do I need to pay the application fee?
A: No.
Q: When and how can I know the admission result?
A: Please keep up with your application process status in the online application system. Once you are admitted, your admission status will be changed. You could log in to the system to download the admission notice after one week. JW202 form will be sent to the email.

3. About preparations for coming to China
Q:How can I get a visa to China after being admitted to China University of Petroleum (East China)?
A:Please go to the Chinese embassy/consulate in your country to apply for study visa with your admission letter and JW202 form. You will get an X2 visa if you plan to study in China within 6 months and get X1 visa if you plan to study in China for more than 6 months.
Q:What documents are expected for registration?
A:Valid passport and visa; Visa Application for Study in China form (JW202) ; original copy of Physical examination record and blood test reports.

Q:What should I do for my visa when I arrive in China?
A:You should apply for your residence permit within 30 days after entering China. If you have an X2 visa, you will be exempted from acquiring a residence permit.
Q:What do I need to know about new student registration?
A:After entering China, you should promptly come to the Admissions Office of College of International Education (UPC) to complete the registration procedure in person. You should clear your tuition payment and otherwise, the registration process cannot be completed.

Q:Do all international students need to buy medical insurance in China?
A:According to the regulations of the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China, all international students studying at UPC for half a year or above are required to purchase the comprehensive medical insurance in mainland China. Students without this insurance would not be allowed to register accordingly.Insurance premium: CNY 400/six months; CNY 800/year.
Q:Do I need to buy insurance if I have already bought insurance in my country?
A:Yes.
Q:Can I get insurance if I go to a private hospital for treatment?
A:No. The medical institutions covered by the medical insurance liability of international students are limited to public hospitals in mainland China.
